The Poodle Club of Tulsa, Inc was established in 1961 and is an affiliate club of The Poodle Club of America, Inc.
The Poodle Club of Tulsa is a group of pet owners, breeders, professional handlers, and AKC judges who are active in promoting the American Kennel Club standard of excellence for the breed. The club also participates in sponsoring specialty shows for poodles, in educating the public and in rescuing poodles in need.
The Poodle Club of Tulsa Adoption Team, Inc. has placed over 700 pets in new homes since 1996.
Why is a "breed club" like The Poodle Club of Tulsa important? Through local "breed clubs" the AKC works to promote the welfare, quality, and sport of owning and raising purebred dogs.
Members become knowledgeable and active in such areas as:

- Responsible breeding guidelines

- Dog-legislative issues
- Poodle rescue services
- Pet owner counseling
- Obedience

We have several special programs throughout the year. We also sponsor a fall specialty and obedience show.
We are a group sharing several common goals. Meetings are both educational and social. After a short business meeting our Program Chairman directs the evening activities, which often include:

The Poodle Club of Tulsa has two types of memberships.
Associate members receive the newsletter, are invited to attend the meetings, and expressly invited to attend the special programs as well as the Christmas party. Associate members do not have voting privileges. The annual membership fee is $10.00 Full members enjoy all of the above, plus they have voting privileges. The annual membership fee for full members is $15.00, and you must attend 2 meetings before full member status is granted.
